ive never had a problem ive had the same xbox for 3 years and havent had anything happen. maybe your curcit is putting to much power into the xbox try plugging it into he wall or a strip plug in thing.

after the first 2 got the ring i bought a new power bar. it was like 80$ cause i thought i had a problem with mine. after like a few months after i got a new one it did it again and after a new one it happened again. but my current one has been working fine. maybe it was just bad luck..
